Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 179 ROBERTS, Ralph Donald KOREA & SPECIAL DUTY & PEACETIME Ralph was born in Windsor, ON in 1931, son of Joseph and Blanche joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1950 and was discharged in 1971. He served on many ships on the High Seas, Korea, Cyprus, Suez Canal Crisis, the United Nations, NATO. His wife, Kathleen, passed away in 1989. They have 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Ralph is retired and lives in Little Anse, Cape Breton, NS. He received the Korea Medal Canada, the Korea Volunteer Service Medal, the Special Service Medal, the Peacekeeping Medal, the Korea Medal-United Nations, the Queen’s Jubilee Medal, the Canadian Decoration & Clasp, the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation Medal and the Democracy 250 Medal; Ralph has been a member of the Isle Madame Branch #150 for 55 years. Co., NS and joined the RCAF on January 26, 1951 and served at several bases in Canada as well as in France, Sardinia and California, retiring on July 17, 1980. Jack had a second career with the public service and finally returned to Middleton, NS. He was a 17-year member of Middleton Branch #001. He passed away in May 2010. ROGERS, Oscar Norman WWII Oscar was born in Canning, Kings Co., NS in 1925 and joined the Navy and Army serving on HMCS Iroquois in Canada and the High Seas. He was a member of Branch #073 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 30 years. Oscar passed away in 2009. Submitted by the Habitant Branch #073 of The Royal Canadian Legion. ROGERS, George William WWII George was born in Canning, Kings Co., NS in 1913 and joined the RCE serving in England, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
