VANTASSELL, Ronald WWII Ronald was born in Dugby, NS in 1920 and joined the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion serving in Canada. He was a member of the Digby Branch #020. Ronald passed away in 1989. Submitted by the Digby Branch #020 of The Royal Canadian Legion. WALSH, Graham R. WWII Graham was born in Sydney, NS in 1925 and joined the Royal Regiment of Canada at age 17 in September 1943 and received his formal training in Aldershot, NS and was completed at London, Ontario and was shipped to England on July 1, 1944 to join the replacements. He was assigned to the 2nd Division of the Royal Regiment as a member of the Toronto Rifles and volunteered to serve in France and found himself on the beach in Normandy. He was wounded in France and following a period of recovery he was assigned to the Reconnaissance Section of the infantry. His training also suited him for service with the T16 armoured vehicle prior to a move to Dieppe and then to Belgium. Graham was wounded on two more occasions. He returned to Sydney, NS in 1946 and married Sadie and worked at the steel plant for 43 years. He’s been a member of Branch #012 for 34 years. WADDLETON, Ronald Lawrence WWII Ronald was born in Saint John, NB in 1924 and joined the Navy with the Three Rivers-Kootenay, the Iroquois and the Niobe Scotland serving in Canada, the High Seas and England. He’s been a member of Branch #162 of The Legion for 65 years. Submitted by the Calais Branch #162 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
