Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 47 BROWN, Carmon “LeRoy” SPECIAL DUTY AREA & PEACETIME Carman was born in Springhill, NS in 1938 and joined the army serving in Canada, Europe (Soest, Germany and Lahr, Germany) and the Gaza Strip, Egypt. He received the SSM, the UNEF, the CD and the CPSM and has been a member of the Branch # 017 of the RCL for the past 37 years. Submitted by the Springhill Branch #017 of The Royal Canadian Legion. BROWN, Charlie WWII Charlie was born in Conn’s Mills on February 24, 1916, son of Clarence and Elizabeth Brown and joined the RCAF and trained as a radio operator serving in Canada, Gander, Newfoundland and Goose Bay, Labrador. He joined the Legion Pugwash Branch # 60 in 1946 and was a Life Member. After the war he operated a corner store for many years and then moved back to his farm at Pugwash. Charlie passed away in 1991. Submitted by the Pugwash Branch #060 of The Royal Canadian Legion. BROWN, Lynn Eugene KOREA SPECIAL DUTY AREA & PEACETIME Lynn was born in Northport, NS in 1932 and joined the army serving in Canada, Europe (Hemer, Germany, Soest, Germany and Lahr, Germany). He received the Korea War Medal, the Korea Volunteer Service Medal, the Special Service Medal, the Peacekeeping Medal, the Korea UN Medal, the Egypt Emergency Force Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration. Lynn passed away in 2006 and was a member of the Branch # 17 of the RCL for 35 years. Submitted by the Springhill Branch #017 of The Royal Canadian Legion. BROWN, Gilbert Clarence WWII Gilbert was born in Conn’s Mills, NS on June 2, 1917, son of Clarence and Elizabeth Brown and joined the RCAF in July, 1941 and served in England as an aircraft mechanic. He was medically discharged after he came home in August of 1944. He was a member of the RCL in Parry Sound, Ontario, Branch # 117 for 25 years. Gilbert passed away in 2004.
