Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 51 BURNS, Ernest WWI Ernest enlisted in the 63rd and went overseas in February, 1916 and was stationed in England four months and transferred to the 9th Machine Gun Company and was in France a year and a half. He was in the battles of Ypres, Somme, Vimy Ridge, Hill 70 and Passchendale. He was convalescent in England with rheumatism when peace was declared. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. BURRILL, Lawrence WWI Lawrence was born in Kemptville, Yarmouth Co and joined the Canadian Railway Troops serving in Canada. He worked as a lumberman in Kemptville after WWI. Submitted by the Carleton Consolidated Branch #167 of The Royal Canadian Legion. CAMPBELL, Malcolm WWII Malcolm was born in Falkirk, Scotland in 1907 and joined the Royal CanadianArmy Service Corps serving in all of Canada. He received the Volunteer Medal, the War Service Medal. He was a cook in various training camps. Malcolm passed in 1975 and was a Life member of Branch #126 of the RCL. Submitted by the Westside Branch #126 of The Royal Canadian Legion. CAMPBELL, Joseph “Jerry” WWII Jerry was born in 1919 and joined the 5th Canadian Armoured Division Cape Breton Highlanders serving in England, Germany, Holland, Italy and France. He was a Life Member of the Digby Branch #020 for 35 years. Jerry passed away in 1995. Submitted by the Digby Branch #020 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
