WWI C.S. enlisted in Toronto in August, 1914 for overseas and was sent to Halifax on lighting and defence. He had sub command of engineering at forts at Halifax where in spite of all his efforts to be sent overseas he was kept until September 1918 when he was ordered overseas but peace came before he could sail. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. CREIGHTON, Helen WWI Helen joined the Royal Air Force in Toronto in September 1918 as a driver for a motor car. WWI T.M. joined the cruiser “Argonaut” as a surgeon and was at sea the day after the war was declared and served one year and was transferred to the hospital ship “China” for three months in the North Sea. He was then transferred to the Canadian Army Medical Corps and went to Lemons and after three months was invalided home very ill. On recovery, he became Commandant in I.O.D.E. Hospital and went next to the trenches in France until he was sent to England with his knee twisted in shell hole. He was then sent to No. 1 General hospital, Etaples until again invalided home very ill. On recovery, he went to London and held the important position of D.A.D.M.S. WWI H.T. enlisted in the 4thg University Company, Montreal in September, 1915 and went overseas in November, 1915 and joined the P.P.C.L.I. in France reaching the front line for the second battle of Ypres in June, 1916 and was in all the big battles up to March, 1917 as an orderly and Lance Corporal. He then received Lieutenant’s Commission and went to England where he trained and joined the Royal Air Force. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
