Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 73 DeLONG, Allister Roland WWII Allister was born on February 12, 1926 in Kempt, Queens Co. and married Jean Estelle Zwicker on July 21, 1944 and had 4 sons. He joined on February 12, 1945 and was stationed in Halifax waiting to go overseas. He was discharged onApril 27, 1946 and returned to Caledonia and drove a truck for many years and later was employed with the Kejimkujik National Park until his death from cancer at the age of 48. DEMONE, Milton WWI Milton enlisted at the age of 19 in December 1915 with the 112th Battalion and sailed overseas in July, 1916 and was transferred to the A.S.C. and went in September, 1917 to France and was on the firing line when Armistice was signed. He reverted from Sergeant to private to go to France and later became Corporal Blacksmith in his unit and was in several big battles. DEMONE, Wallace WWI Wallace enlisted at the age of 17 in March 1916 with the 219th Battalion and was transferred to the 161st at Witley and went to France in March, 1918. He was wounded in May 1918 in the back and sent to hospital in England for three months and then to Bramshott with the Reserves. After the Armistice was signed he went back to the firing line. DEMONE, Owen WWI Owen enlisted in the Cycle Corps in February, 1917 at Halifax, NS at age 15 and sailed for France with the 26th Reserves in September and when in France he joined the 25th Battalion and remained on the firing line until February, 1918 when he was sent back to England being too young for service.
