He saw action from that day until he was seriously wounded outside of Caen on July 17th. Sent to England to recuperate, he was then transferred to Scotland to await transport home. In Inverness Scotland he met and married Marjory Chisholm. Back in Canada they settled in Cumberland County and raised 8 children. He will turn 90 on January 25 2011. Those are the facts. My father has until recently never talked a lot about his experiences in battle. We will always be grateful for the effort and sacrifice made by him and others.
