Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 95 FOUGERE, Charles Leonard WWII Charles was born in Port Hawkesbury, NS on July 6, 1925 and signed on the Lady Rodney on July 25, 1945 and served on the East coast of Canada. He also served on the “Whippet” from 1943-44 and signed off the Lady Rodney on December 24, 1945. He had two other brothers in the Merchant Navy. Charles received the 193945 War Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Clasp. Submitted by the Isle Madame Branch #150 of The Royal Canadian Legion. FOUGERE, Eldred Anthony WWII Eldred was born in Port Hawkesbury, NS in 1927 and signed on the Lady Rodney at the age of 17 leaving Halifax to England with the troops in 1943. He received the 1939-45 War Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Bar and the Atlantic Star. He’s been a member of the Isle Madame Branch #150 for three years. FOUGERE, Joseph Herman WWII Herman was born in port Hawkesbury, NS in 1925 and served in the Merchant Navy on the Lady Rodney serving on the East Coast and the High Seas bringing troops from Halifax to England. This ship also brought back war brides. Herman received the 1939-45 War Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Clasp, the 193945 Star and the Merchant Marine Medal. He passed away in1999. FOUGERE, Joseph Ernest WWII Ernest was born in Port Hawkesbury, NS in 1924 and joined the West Nova Scotia Regiment 1st Division serving in Canada, the United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean Area and Continental Europe. He received the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal & Clasp, the War Medal 1939-45 and the Holland Medal. Joseph has been a member of the Uniacke & District #165 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 27 years. Submitted by the Isle Madame Branch #150 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
