Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 129 MYETTE, Joseph Leo KOREA Joseph was the son of Sophie and Benjamin Myette. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Regiment and served in Korea. He received the Volunteer Service Medal. After the war, he moved to Ontario and lived and worked there for many years. He is a brother to Priscilla Rust. He is buried in Tracadie. Submitted by Tracadie & District. MYETTE, Raymond Clarence WWII Raymond was born to Mary Jane (Darling) and Jeffery Myette in Tracadie, NS. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada. After the war, he went to Ontario and worked for General Electric. He married and had 3 children. Raymond is deceased and is buried in Toronto. His sister, Mable Anker of Antigonish, also served. NAGLE, Edward WWI Edward enlisted with the 66th Battalion in August 1915 and went across in January, 1916 and transferred to the Machine Gun Section, 16th Battalion and went to France. He won a Military Medal for bravery on the field and was transferred again to Headquarters Staff of 16th Scottish. He did splendid work in the battle of Arras and the Colonel recommended him for a bar to his medal and this was granted after his death on December 21, 1918. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. MYETTE, Vincent Leonard WWII Vincent was born to Mary Jane (Darling) and Jeffery Myette in Tracadie, NS. He enlisted in the Navy and served on HMCS Athabaskan, a Tribal destroyer. The ship was torpedoed and those who survived were taken prisoner. He spent a year in a war camp in Germany. He was released in 1945. Vincent is married, has 3 sons, and lives in Toronto, Ontario. Submitted by Tracadie & District.
