Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 145 RAFUSE, Osbert Laurence WWI Osbert enlisted in the 10th Siege Battery in June 1917 and qualified in signaling and gunnery. He went to England on September 5, 1917 and was transferred to Headquarters R.C.H. Artillery. He went to France on April 14, 1918. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. RAFUSE, Percy Howard WWI Percy was born in Black Point, NS in 1897. He joined the Army and served in France with the 85th Battalion of the Manitoba Regiment. He was killed in action in Aulnoy, France on November 5, 1918 at age 20. Percy is buried in the Aulnoy Communal Cemetery in France. Submitted by the Atlantic Branch #153 of The Royal Canadian Legion. RAINS, Robert Carman PEACETIME Robert was born in Halifax, NS in 1933. He was the second of four brothers who were in the Royal Canadian Air Force at the same time, serving in Canada and Marseille, France. He was awarded the Special Services Medal and the NATO Medal. Robert died in 2001 and is buried at Fairview Cemetery in Lawrencetown, Anna Co., NS. Submitted by the Lawrencetown Branch #112 of The Royal Canadian Legion. RAFUSE, Willis WWI Willis was born in Black Point, NS in 1888. He joined the Royal CanadianAir Force and served in France with the 13th Battalion of the Canadian Infantry, Quebec Regiment. He was killed in action in Calais, France on August 30, 1918 at the age of 31. Willis is buried in the Ligny-St. Flochel British Cemetery in Pas de Calais, France.
