Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 191 WILSON, Albert Edward WWI Albert joined the 112th Battalion in Windsor on December 8, 1915 and sailed for England the following July. He crossed to France in January 1917 and fought with the 25th Battalion through several big battles, including Vimy Ridge where he was taken prisoner. For the next 20 months, he suffered the indignity and discomfort of a German prison camp. On December 3, 1918, he was repatriated and sent to England via Holland. WOLFE, Howard Cormack WWI Howard was born in Dartmouth, NS on September 15, 1884 and served several years in the 63rd Halifax Rifles, retiring with the rank of Sergeant. He enlisted for overseas service in the 90th Winnipeg Rifles and sailed for England with the first contingent in October 1914. He went to France in February 1915 and was continually engaged on active service until taken prisoner at the Battle of Langemarck on April 25, 1915. He remained a prisoner of war in Germany until March 15, 1918 when he was interned in Holland and remained there until the Armistice was signed on November 11, 1918. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. WRIGHT, Maurice WWI Maurice, brother of Sydney, enlisted in the Engineers in the summer of 1915 and sailed for England. Owing to ill health, he was prevented from getting to the front and spent that winter in a hospital in England then was invalided home in the spring of 1916. He never fully recovered his health and his condition gradually grew worse until he passed away in November 1918. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. WOOLAVER, John A. WWII John was born in Nova Scotia in 1923 and joined the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, serving in England and Continental Europe.
