He joined the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps and served with the Cape Breton Highlanders in England, France and Holland where he was killed in action on April 23, 1945. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Bar, the France and Germany Star, and the War Medal 1939-45. Submitted by the Isle Madame Branch #150 of The Royal Canadian Legion. BOUDREAU, Valma Jeffrey “Val” WWII Val was born in Petit-de-Grat, NS in 1920. He joined the Army and served in England, North Africa, Italy, Belgium and Holland. He received the War Medal 1939-45, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the Africa Star, the Italy Star, the France and Germany Star and the 1939-45 Star. After the war, he moved to Brantford, ON and worked as a hoisting engineer with Massey Ferguson for 33 years. With Marie, his wife of 63 years, he raised 2 children. Val has been a member of RCL Brantford Branch #090 for fifty-five years and a lifelong member of the Brant Artillery Club. Submitted by the Isle Madame Branch #150 of The Royal Canadian Legion. BOUDREAU, William Simon WWI William was born in East Tracadie, NS on August 4, 1893, son of Rose and John L. Boudreau. He was single when he was drafted on July 9, 1918 at Camp Aldershot, NS. He was a farmer at the time of enlistment. After the war, he married Hilda Levangie and they had six children. Submitted by Tracadie & District. BOUDREAU, Vincent Severence WWII Vincent was born in Petit-de-Grat, NS on August 26, 1918. He joined the Royal Canadian Army on July 29, 1940 and served with the Pictou Highlanders in Canada until his discharge on March 14, 1944. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the 1939-45 Star. Back in Petit-de-Grat, he raised 4 children with his wife, Cecilia, and was employed as a foreman then as a truck driver until he retired. Vincent was a member of RCL Isle Madame Branch #150 for forty-two years and was also President, Past President and 1st Vice President. Vincent died in 1988 at the age of sixty-nine.
