He joined the Army and served with the 5th Field Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery in Canada, the UK and Continental Europe in 1945 from June 1 to June 20, and with the 213 Anti-Tank Regiment from June 21 to September 15. Herbert was a member of RCL F.E. Butler Branch #044 for more than twenty-two years before he passed away in 1969. Submitted independently. CLINTON, Michael Ambrose WWI Michael was born on May 2, 1887 in Mattie Settlement. He was a farmer, son of Mrs. Mary Clinton. He was drafted to Camp Aldershot on May 28, 1918 to the 1st Depot Battalion. He also served in Camp Petawawa in WWII guarding prisoners. He was single and returned to Grosvenor. Submitted by Tracadie & District. COOLEN, Carl. H. WWII Carl was born in Hubbards, NS in 1903. He joined the Royal CanadianAir Force and served with the Canadian Merchant Navy on SS Lady Hawkins in the NorthAtlantic. He was killed in action in 1942 when his ship was sunk. Carl was buried at sea. Submitted by the Atlantic Branch #153 of The Royal Canadian Legion. CONRAD, Lowell WWI Lowell was born in Hubbards, NS in 1895. He joined the Army and served in France with the 105th USA Infantry. He was killed in action on September 29, 1918 at age 23. Lowell is buried in France.
