He joined the Royal CanadianAir Force on January 19, 1953 and was posted in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and Manitoba before going to France with the 2nd Fighter Wing (1962) and the 1st Fighter Wing in Marville (1964). He then served in Belgium before returning to Canada where he was posted to Cold Lake, AB (1966), Shearwater, NS (1972), and on HMCS Preserver and Iroquois. He received the Canadian Forces Decoration and Bar. Charles and his wife, Connie, had 6 children. He retired in 1977 to reside in Arichat, NS. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1983 and was stationed in Halifax, then served in Haiti with NATO and in the Adriatic Sea as well as in Manitoba and at the Bedford rifle range. He was a Corporal when he was medically discharged in 2006. David was awarded the Special Service Medal, the Canadian Forces Decoration 1, the NATO Former Yugoslavia (1992-2002) Medal and the South-West Asia Service Medal. Troy has been married to Brenda Boudreau for the last 12 years. Submitted by the Isle Madame Branch #150 of The Royal Canadian Legion. DAVIDSON (SR.), William Peter PEACETIME William was born to William and Emily (DeYoung) Davidson in Afton, NS on August 26, 1926. He served with the 3rd Battalion Canadian Guards from June 1954 to 1957 and was stationed at CFB Volunteered Cartier, Quebec. He later married Catherine Pettipas of Tracadie, NS and they raised 3 children. William was a miner in Timmins, Ontario where he lived. He died in 2001. Submitted by Tracadie & District. DAVID, Tyrone Joseph SPECIAL DUTYAREA Tyrone was born in Arichat, NS on April 10, 1965 and joined the Royal Canadian Navy on December 16, 1986. He was stationed in Victoria, BC, and twice in Quebec City, QC and Halifax, NS. He also served with NATO’s Standing Immediate Reaction Force from 2000-2002 and was deployed to Afghanistan from 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. David, a Lieutenant Commander, was awarded the Special Service Medal (NATO), the Canadian Forces Decoration 1, and the General Campaign Star – South-West Asia.
