Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 65 FRASER, Angus R. WWI Angus enlisted with the 78th Pictou Highlanders in Halifax on October 18, 1915 at the age of 29. Shortly after, he was transferred to the Composite Battalion. He tried many times to go overseas but was always refused permission. He was transferred to the 6th C.G.R. as soon as it was mobilized. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. FRASER, Harry WWII Harry was born in Glen Margaret, NS in 1909. He joined the US Army and served in Europe. He was killed in action in Holland on April 16, 1945 at age 36. Harry is buried in the US 1st Cemetery in Holland. Submitted by the Atlantic Branch #153 of The Royal Canadian Legion. FUNGE, Henry Alfred (Harry) WWII Henry was born in England on June 16, 1912. He joined the Royal Air Force in 1940 and his squadron was stationed at several points in England. As a Leading Aircraftsman, he serviced and repaired Spitfire aircraft which played a big part in winning the Battle of Britain. After a number of years servicing and repairing, Harry and many others were sent on a rest cure to other parts of the British Commonwealth, including Canada. He was stationed at Debert, NS where he worked with Canadian RCAF men preparing to go overseas. After the war, he studied for the United Church ministry and was ordained on June 10, 1956, serving in Ontario and Nova Scotia and retiring in Collingwood, Cumberland County, NS. Harry and his wife, Elizabeth, had two daughters. He passed away in 1986 at seventy-four and is buried in the Sunny Brae Cemetery. Submitted by the Colchester Branch #026 of The Royal Canadian Legion. FREDERICKS, Theodore Ernest WWII Theodore was born in Head of Margaret’s Bay, NS in 1908. He joined the Army and served with the West Nova Scotia Reserve of the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps. He was killed in action in Italy on September 21, 1944 at the age of 35. Theodore is buried in the Granada War Cemetery, Italy. Submitted by the Atlantic Branch #153 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
