He was the son of John Gero andAnnie Sheppard. He enlisted on June 13, 1940 in Montreal and served in the UK, Central Mediterranean area, and Continental Europe. He served with the Royal Canadian and Volunteer Service Corps, and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the 1939-45 War Medal. He was discharged on July 17, 1945 and settled in Quebec. He was married twice; his second wife was Helen. Thomas is buried in Montreal, Quebec. Submitted by Tracadie & District. GERRIOR, Eugene Herbert WWII Eugene was born on October 1, 1913 in Merland, NS. He was the son of Joe and Katie Gerrior. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on August 24, 1942 in Halifax and served in Canada, Britain and Northwest Europe. He was discharged on May 22, 1946 and received the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defense Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the War Medal 193945. He married after the war and he and his wife had four daughters. Submitted by Tracadie & District. GORMAN, Joseph WWI Joseph was born in East Tracadie on December 9, 1896, son of Mrs. Evangeline Gorman. He was drafted on June 12, 1918 at Camp Aldershot with the 1st Depot Battalion. He was a farmer and single at the time. He later married Sarah Boudreau and they had nine children. The family still lives on the old homestead. Joseph farmed after the war. Submitted by Tracadie & District. GESNER, George Herbert WWII George was born in River Hebert, NS in 1918. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Newfoundland and Canada.
