He joined the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, and England where he was wounded 3 days before the end of the war. After 9 months in a British hospital, Jeantie moved to Halifax, worked on tug boats for a time and in 1949, married Mildred Wilson. They had 5 children. He retired from Camp Hill Hospital in 1987 after thirty-seven years of service as a stationary engineer and died on July 30, 1988. Jeantie received the War Medal 1939-45, the France and Germany Star, the 1939-45 Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Bar. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served on the high seas and in the Atlantic on HMCS Scotian, Nootka, Stadacona, Cayuga, Hochelaga, Donnacona, Annapolis, Bonaventure, and Iroquois as well as at CFB Halifax. He received the Canadian Armed Forces Certificate of Service in April 1974 upon his release. Later, he opened Jack’s Lobster Ltd. in Jeddore, NS. Joseph and his wife, Rose, raised 6 children. He joined the Army on January 29, 1943 and served with the No. 6 District Depot C.A. of the Canadian Army in Canada and NL. After his discharge on March 29, 1946, he worked 10 years on CSS Acadia and 4 years at Windsor Park, Halifax. He was also a milkman for Farmers and was in the taxi business until he retired in 1994. He raised 4 children with his wife, Margaret, and he passed away on September 3, 1998. Raymond was awarded the War Medal 1939-45 and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He joined the Army and served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment of the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps in Italy where he was killed in action on May 22, 1944. He was awarded the War Medal 1939-45, the Italy Star, the 1939-45 Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Bar. Joseph is buried in Italy at the Cassino War Cemetery.
