He enlisted in WWII and served in the UK and Continental Europe. He received the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the War Medal 1939-45, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He married an English woman and they have 4 children. After the war, William worked as an iron worker. Submitted by Tracadie & District. HARNISH, Clyde WWII Clyde was born in Hubbards, NS in 1918. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Europe with 101 Squadron. He was killed in action in Germany on March 31, 1944 at the age of 25. HILL, Kenneth WWII Kenneth was born in Great Village, NS in 1916. He joined the Army and with his brothers, Donald and Newcombe, served with the highly regarded Canadian Forestry Corps in England and Scotland. He later worked in a mine. Kenneth passed away in 1994. Submitted by the Cobequid Branch #072 of The Royal Canadian Legion. HILL, Donald WWII Donald was born in Great Village, NS in 1921. He joined the Army and with his brothers, Kenneth and Newcombe, served with the highly regarded Canadian Forestry Corps in England and Scotland. Donald later worked for the CPR.
