Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 79 HILL, Newcombe WWII Newcombe was born in Great Village, NS in 1918. He joined the Army and with his brothers, Donald and Kenneth, served with the highly regarded Canadian Forestry Corps in England and Scotland. In 1952, Newcombe died in an accident with the CPR. He joined the Army and served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and the Canadian Army Service Corps in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He received the War Medal 1939-45 and the Canadian Efficiency Medal. Parker was a member of RCL Colchester Branch #026 before he passed away in 2007. Submitted by the Colchester Branch #026 of The Royal Canadian Legion. HUBLEY, Harold WWI Harold was born in Black Point, NS in 1896. He joined the Army and served in France with the 1st Canadian Army Medical Corps. He was killed in action on January 31, 1916 at age 20. Harold is buried in Black Point, Nova Scotia. Submitted by the Atlantic Branch #153 of The Royal Canadian Legion. HOLLORAN, Damian Andrew PEACETIME Damian, son of Lawrence and Moriah (Breen) Holloran, was born in Merland, NS. He joined the Air Force in 1954 and served with NATO in Canada and Germany until 1987. He married Minna Miller and they have three children. After thirty-three years in the military, he retired and did odd jobs. He presently lives in Bayfield, NS. Damian is the brother of Margaret Boyle. Submitted by Tracadie & District.
