Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 93 LOMAS, John Albert WWI John enlisted as Sergeant in the 9th Mounted Rifles in Swift Current, SK in 1914 and went to France in 1916. He was then transferred to the 197th Battalion and then to the 107th Stretcher Bearers in France. He was later transferred to the Canadian Engineers. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LONGARD, Marshall WWI Marshall was born in Tantallon, NS in 1892. He joined the Army and served in France and Belgium with the 25th Battalion of the Canadian Reserves, New Brunswick Regiment. He was killed in action on August 8, 1916 at the age of 24. Marshall is buried in Ridgewood Military Cemetery in Belgium. Submitted by the Atlantic Branch #153 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LOVELOCK, F. J. WWI F.J. enlisted in August 1915 with the 6th Battalion, trained at Sussex then went on to Halifax where he was stationed until March 31, 1916. He then sailed for England and was transferred to the 24th Battalion. He was shell shocked on July 27, 1916 and invalided to England where he was nursed back to health, returning to his unit in France on September 24, 1916. He was in all the great engagements including, Vimy, Passchendaele and he saw much hard fighting. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LOVELOCK, C. H. WWI C.H. enlisted with the Royal Flying Corps of Canada on April 12, 1917 and served with this Corps until demobilization in December 1918.
