MacKINNON, Donald John “Duchie” WWII Donald was born in 1925 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He joined the Army and served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders during World War II. He was killed in action in Holland and is buried on Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery in Holland. He was awarded the War Medal 1939-45, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the France and Germany Star, and the 1939-45 Star. MacKINNON, John Steven WWII John was born in 1921 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He joined the Army and served with the Princess Fusiliers in Italy where he contracted malaria. He died in 1945 at the Military Hospital in Halifax from complications of malaria John was awarded the War Medal 1939-45, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the George VI Medal, the France and Germany Star, the 1939-45 Star, and the Italy Star. MacKINNON, John Murdock WWI John was born in Kinloch, Nova Scotia. He joined the Army and served with the 185th Battalion of the Cape Breton Highlanders in France and Europe during World War I.
