He joined the Navy and sailed on the high seas on the following ships: HMCS Skeena, Assiniboine, Prince Henry, Stettler, and New Waterford. He served on the North Atlantic, Aleutian Islands, Caribbean, and in the Mediterranean under constant threat of surface and U-boat attacks. Harold has been a member of Mercy Legion Branch #038 in Liverpool for 49 years. Submitted by the Clementsport Legion Branch #122 of The Royal Canadian Legion. MOORE, Douglas Harold PEACETIME Douglas was born in 1939 in Wiarton, Ontario. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served from 1957 to 1985 ashore at Shearwater, Windsor Park, and Stadacona and also on high seas on: HMCS La Hulloise, Sioux, Terra Nova, Chaudière, Fundy, Protecteur, Provider, Saskatchewan, Saguenay, Skeena, and Huron. Douglas survived the HMCS Courtney fire where he was on board as a member of Squadron Staff. He also served one year with the Standing Naval Forces Atlantic, on staff in HMCS Huron, Algonquin and Athabaskan. Douglas has been a member of Clementsport Legion Branch #122 for 16 years. Submitted by the Clementsport Legion Branch #122 of The Royal Canadian Legion. MOSHER, Weldon Cameron SPECIALTY DUTYAREA Weldon was born in Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia in 1931. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada with Squadrons 405, 419, and 433. He was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration. Weldon was a member of Gaetz Brook Legion Branch #161 for 44 years. Submitted by the Eastern Marine Branch #161 of The Royal Canadian Legion. MOORE, Jason SPECIAL DUTYAREA & PEACETIME Jason was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1974. He joined the Canadian Army and served as a Corporal with the Military Police in Afghanistan.
