PEACETIME Peter was born in 1945 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and took his officer’s basic training at Esquimalt, BC, then trained to become an Air Navigator. Peter served for 35 years and 9 months at Shearwater, Halifax, Winnipeg, and Baden-Soellingen, Germany. Peter has been a member of Clementsport Legion Branch #122 for 12 years. Vernon enlisted as a Private with the 71st Battalion on March 12, 1915 in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. He went to Halifax on March 17, 1915 and was later transferred to the Composite Battalion, “C” Company. He was promoted to Quarter Master Sergeant in November 1916 while serving in Canada. He enlisted in the Army during World War II and served with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry in Dieppe in August 1942. He also served with the Canadian Provost Corps in Northwest Europe from 1944-45. Charles was a member of Captain Angus L. Macdonald Legion Branch #132 in Inverness.
