W. served as a Sergeant with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps of Halifax and Kentville during World War II. He also served during the Korean Conflict. Sergeant Parker was awarded the British Empire Medal. J. W. also lost a cousin, Charlie Hagerty, in the Second World War. Submitted independently. PERROTT, Walter Ernest WWI Walter was 24 years of age and an agent when he enlisted in Toronto, Ontario in the 73rd Highland Battalion in 1915. About a year later, he was promoted to Sergeant and nothing was ever heard of him after he went overseas with his battalion. The loss of Sergeant Perrott and other missing men in this way shows the saddest and most singular parts of a war. Submitted by the Middleton Branch #001 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
