He was the son of Hubert Pettipas (Sr.) and Mary DeCoste. He enlisted with the 165 Acadian Battalion and transferred to the Royal Air Force. Lieutenant Pettipas served as a pilot in Egypt and France and returned home in 1918. Hubert died in 1920 at the age of 26. He was Godfather to Charlotte Delorey of Tracadie. He joined the Canadian Army and was stationed at Bramshott, England as a medic at 24 General Hospital. John was a member of Clementsport Legion Branch #122 for 66 years. POIRIER, Charles C. WWI Charles was born in Eastern Harbour, Nova Scotia. He joined the Army during World War I and served in France with the 185th Battalion of the Cape Breton Highlanders.
