“We Support Those Who Serve” On behalf of the Province of Nova Scotia, I would like to thank our Nova Scotia Legion members, military personnel and their families for the enormous contributions and sacrifices they have made, and continue to make, for our great country. Nova Scotia has always had a strong tradition of supporting Canada’s fighting men and women. This year marks the 70th anniversary of Canada’s raid on Dieppe, France during the Second World War. Nearly 5,000 Canadian soldiers stormed the French shore in the Battle of Dieppe. Less than half of them returned to Canada. All of them fought bravely. The province is proud of the women and men who serve – and who have served – in the Canadian Armed Forces. I want to extend our heartfelt appreciation for the contributions they make abroad and at home with their families, in communities throughout Nova Scotia. Premier Darrell Dexter
