He went overseas and was transferred to the 25th Battalion. He then served in France for two years in the trenches and was killed in Belgium in the last battle before the Armistice was signed in 1918. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1957 and took his basic training at the RCAF Station Centralia and Winnipeg. He served as an Air Obs Radar Tech Air at Centralia, Greenwood, and Edmonton. Don has been a member of Clementsport Legion Branch #122 for 10 years. Submitted by the Clementsport Legion Branch #122 of The Royal Canadian Legion. WALLACE, James Vincent WWII James was born on April 22, 1922 to Jim and Annie (Daley) Wallace from Afton. He enlisted in the North Nova Scotia Highlanders on August 30, 1941 in New Glasgow and served in the mail department, mainly in Victoria, British Columbia. Corporal Wallace was discharged on May 14, 1946 and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-45. He married Thelma Daley with whom he raised several children and they lived in Afton. James died in an accident on June 3, 1971 at the age of 49. Submitted by Tracadie & District. WALKER, Donald Hector WWII Donald was born on July 15, 1920 in Inverness, Nova Scotia. He enlisted in the Army during World War II and served as a Gunner with the Royal Canadian Artillery in Canada, Britain and Northwest Europe. He was awarded the France and Germany Star, the 1939-45 Star, the Defense Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, and the War Medal 1939-45. Donald was a member of Captain Angus L. Macdonald Legion Branch #132 in Inverness. Submitted by the Inverness Branch #132 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
