He enlisted in the Army during World War II and served with the Corps of Royal Canadian Engineers in Northwest Europe. Louis was a member of Captain Angus L. CARR, John Chelsey WWII John was born on Prince Edward Island but his family later moved to Tracadie, Nova Scotia. He enlisted in the Merchant Navy, later transferring to the Regular Navy and serving in the North Atlantic. Stoker Carr was wounded in 1941 when his ship was torpedoed and was wounded a second time in 1944 when his ship was sunk. There were only sixteen survivors. John returned home and married Margaret Bonvie with whom he raised two children. After the war, he lived in Tracadie and worked as a mechanic. His son is Daniel Carr of Tracadie. John has passed away and is buried in Tracadie. Submitted by Tracadie & District. CAMPBELL, Neil Joseph WWII Neil was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia. He joined the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps and served in the Central Mediterranean area, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe during World War II. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the France and Germany Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. Neil was a member of Captain Angus L. MacDonald Legion Branch #132 in Inverness. Submitted by the Inverness Branch #132 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
