He had two brothers, William Henry and Patrick, who were listed as his next of kin. Malcolm was single and working as a mill man at the time he enlisted in New Glasgow on November 16, 1917. HALLIDAY, Marilyn PEACETIME Marilyn was born in Bear River, Nova Scotia in 1943. She joined the Royal Canadian Navy and took her basic training at CFB Cornwallis, then had to take a release to look after her sick husband. HALEY, William Henry WWI William was born in Merland, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia on September 21, 1883. He enlisted in Cape Breton in April 1916 and served as a Private with the 193rd Battalion of the Canada Overseas Expeditionary Force during World War I.
