Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 95 LITTLE, Guy Hartford WWI Guy was born in Margaretsville, Nova Scotia in 1898. He enlisted in the Army on February 5, 1916 in Middleton, Nova Scotia at the age of 17 and served as a Private with the 112th Overseas Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. He arrived in England on July 31, 1916 and transferred to the 2nd Canadian Division, 5th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 25th Battalion (Nova Scotia Rifles) on October 10, 1916. He arrived in France on October 11, 1916 and in April 1917, was buried alive, all but one arm, at Vimy Ridge. He was dug out by Private Jake Hall from Auburn, Nova Scotia. He was wounded a second time at Passchendaele on July 3, 1917. He returned to Canada on November 29, 1918 and was discharged in Halifax on January 2, 1919. PEACETIME John was born in 1935 in Toronto, Ontario. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1954 and took his basic officers training at Venture. He then served on the following HMCS ships and bases: Ontario, Magnificent, Athabaskan, Iroquois, Micmac, Victoriaville, Protecteur, CDLS London, England, Royal Naval Engineering College, in Plymouth, England, Royal Naval College in Greenwood, England, NDHQ, Halifax area, and Esquimalt, BC. LONG, Gerald P. “Bibs” PEACETIME Bibs was born in Clementsvale, Nova Scotia in 1931. He joined the Canadian Army and served with the 8th Canadian Hussars (PL) in Northwest Europe, Cyprus, and Canada.
