He joined the Canadian Army and served with the Cape Breton Highlanders and the North Nova Scotia Highlanders in England, Holland, and Germany throughout the war. LOVETT, Louis WWI Louis had worked up to the position of Sergeant on the Halifax Police Force before enlisting as a Private in the Army in 1916. He joined up with the Light Railway Corps which won admiration for Canada as a country of adept railway builders and operators. WWII Charles was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia. He joined the Army during World War II and served in Europe with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. Charles was a Life member of Captain Angus L. MacDonald Legion Branch #132 in Inverness before he passed away in 2010. Submitted by the Inverness Branch #132 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LYNCH, Mary T. WWI Mary sailed from St. John as matron in charge of a party of volunteer nursing sisters on January 5, 1916. She was stationed at Shorncliffe for a time and then went to France and went through Vimy Ridge, Rouen, Paris and at Casualty Station No. 4 Canadian at Valenciennes.
