He joined the US Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member of Cambrai Legion Branch # 37 for six years before he died in 1978. Submitted by the Cambrai Legion Branch # 037 of The Royal Canadian Legion. SUTHERLAND, Russell David WWII Russell was born in 1920 in the United States, in Somerville, Massachusetts. He joined the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve and served as a radar operator on HMCS Nabob in England and on the high seas. The Nabob was torpedoed off Norway in 1944 but he escaped unharmed. Russell passed away in 2000. Submitted independently. TOLLIVER, William Henry WWI William has the distinction of being the first man to join the 2nd Construction Battalion, although he was an only son and was 18 years of age. He was in France from June 1918 until the close of the war, fulfilling his duties faithfully. Submitted by the Middleton Branch # 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. TIMMONS, Donald James WWII Donald was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia. He served with the Canadian Army in Europe during World War II. Donald has been a member of Captain Angus L. Macdonald Legion Branch 132 in Inverness. Submitted by the Inverness Branch # 132 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
