Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 31 CRAWLEY, Arthur WWI Arthur enlisted with the 85th Battalion on September 4, 1916 and trained in Aldershot. He sailed overseas in October 1916 and went to France with the rank of Corporal. Arthur fought there for many months until the spring of 1917 when he was killed at Vimy Ridge. CUNNINGHAM, Austin Ward WWI Austin left his studies for the ministry at King’s College, Windsor, and joined the 66th Princess Louise Fusiliers as Lieutenant in September 1914. He was then transferred to the 40th Battalion as a signaling officer and did construction work in England. Austin went over with the Cable Signaling Corps of the Royal C. DEAGLE, Charles KOREA Charles was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia and he served with the Canadian Army in Korea. Charles has been a member of Captain Angus L. MacDonald Legion Branch 132 in Inverness. He served as a Captain with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders in Europe during World War II. Al has been a member of Captain Angus L. MacDonald Legion Branch 132 in Inverness.
