WWI Charles enlisted in October, 1917 with the 10th Siege Battery in Halifax and sailed for overseas in November, 1918. He was stationed at Witley Camp, Surrey and qualified as a first class signaler. He went to France in a draft on August 8, 1918 where he was attached to the 1st D.A.C., taking part in several big battles there. He was on the firing line when the Armistice was signed. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force on a Lancaster bomber crew in Northwest Europe during World War II. Daniel was a Life member of Captain Angus L. MacDonald Legion Branch 132 in Inverness before he died in 2008. Submitted by the Inverness Branch # 132 of The Royal Canadian Legion. FLYNN, Charles P. WWI Charles, son of the late Hon. M.P. Flynn of Richmond County, NS, was born in Arichat, NS. He enlisted with the 79th Field Battery in August 1916 and trained in Petawawa, ON and Montreal, QC before going overseas in October, 1917 and to France in April, 1918. Charles transferred to the Trench Battery and saw heavy fighting during the various drives of 1918. Submitted by the Middleton Branch # 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. FERGUSON (DUFFITT), Olive WWII Olive was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia. She served with the Royal Air Force in England during World War II.
