He was transferred to the 17th Battalion at Bramshott and sent to the 25th in France for three and a half months. James then returned to the Y.S.B. at Bexhillon-Sea and then left Bramshott after which he was honourably discharged in 1918. Submitted by the Middleton Branch # 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. GRANT, Allan WWI Allan was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia. He joined the Army and served as a Sergeant with the 185th Battalion, Cape Breton Highlanders, in England and Europe during World War I. HANNIGAN, Archie “Baer” WWII Archie was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia and he wore the nickname Baer for the great boxer, Max Baer. Archie joined the Army and served with the Irish Regiment of Canada in Delfzijl, Holland during World War II. Archie has been a member of Captain Angus L. MacDonald Legion Branch 132 in Inverness. Submitted by the Inverness Branch # 132 of The Royal Canadian Legion. HACHÉ, Michael W. “Mike” PEACETIME Mike was born in 1954 in Montreal, Quebec. He joined the Canadian Forces in 1972 and served in Canada and on the Atlantic and Arctic oceans with 404 Maritime Patrol and Training Squadron and 405 Maritime Patrol Squadron (Pathfinder). He qualified as a Maritime Air Navigator in 1978. For 19 of the next 29 years, Mike was directly or indirectly involved in all aspects of various national and multinational surveillance and reconnaissance operations from Greenwood to Halifax, NS. He also served on the staff at Royal Roads Military College from 1991 to 1994 and National Defence Headquarters as a Wing Operations Officer at Comox, BC from 1997 to 1999. Mike has been a member of Legion Branch # 110 for three years. Submitted by the L’Ardoise Branch # 110 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
