He enlisted on January 1, 1915 in the Canadian Infantry, Nova Scotia Regiment, and served as a Private in France with the 25th Battalion. Oscar was killed in action at Vimy Ridge on April 9, 1917 and he is buried in France in the Nine Elms Military Cemetery at Pas-de-Calais. He was married to Jennie Herman of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Submitted independently. LeLEIVRE, Lawrence D. WWII Lawrence was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia. He served as a Sergeant with the Royal Canadian Army Pay Corps and the Royal Canadian Artillery in Europe, France and Italy during World War II. Lawrence has been a member of Captain Angus L. MacDonald Legion Branch 132 in Inverness. Submitted by the Inverness Branch # 132 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LEGION, George WWI George was one of the few who had received military training before the outbreak of the war, having served five years with the 66th Princess Louise Fusiliers.
