He served with the Royal Canadian Navy on HMCS Ontario during World War II. Ted was a member of Captain Angus L. MacDonald Legion Branch 132 in Inverness before he passed away on October 1, 2002. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in England during World War II. She was killed in Northwest Europe. Submitted by the Inverness Branch # 132 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LONG, John W. WWI John went overseas with the 10th Siege Battery at age 17 in April, 1917 as a Gunner. He served in Belgium, attached to the 23rd Howitzer Battery, and was in France for one year. Previously, he had been stationed at Witley Camp, England. John was a student at St. Mary’s College when he enlisted. Submitted by the Middleton Branch # 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion. LIVINGSTONE, John WWI John was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia. He joined the 185th Battalion and served with the Cape Breton Highlanders during World War I.
