Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 69 MacBRIDE, Elmer Lormer KOREA Elmer was born in November 1929 in Pereaux, King’s County, Nova Scotia. He did his basic training in 1949 in Wainwright, Alberta and served with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse, Royal Canadian Regiment, in Korea. He was discharged in November 1953 and returned home with malaria. Elmer received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the Korea Medal. He worked for Cameron Contracting Ltd. for many years and then was self-employed as a carpenter. Married with four children, Elmer was also a member of Habitant Legion Branch # 73 for 36 years before he died in 1995. He is buried in Pereaux Cemetery. Submitted independently. MacDONALD, A. J. WWI A. J. MacDonald was born in Port Hood, Nova Scotia. He joined the 185th Battalion and served as a Private with the Cape Breton Highlanders during World War I. Submitted by the Inverness Branch # 132 of The Royal Canadian Legion. MacDONALD, Alexander WWII Alexander was born in Broad Cove, Nova Scotia. He enlisted in the American Army and served during World War II. Submitted by the Inverness Branch # 132 of The Royal Canadian Legion. MacDONALD Alex Dan WWII Alex was born in Port Hood, Nova Scotia. He enlisted in the Canadian Army and served in Europe during World War II. Alex was killed in active service. Submitted by the Inverness Branch # 132 of The Royal Canadian Legion.
