Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 119 FOSTER, Henry Robertson WWI Henry was born in Boston in 1888, son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Robertson) Foster, and after his father’s death and his mother’s remarriage, stepson of John Fisher of Halfway Brook. Henry was recruited in 1918 and joined the 1st Nova Scotia Battalion as Corporal. After the war, he was a bookkeeper at H. T. Fulton’s store in Upper Stewiacke and later worked at the Pictou Shipyards. He married Frances Ingleby Foster, daughter of Bryan and Bertha (Johnson) Foster of Upper Stewiacke Village. Submitted by the Stewiacke Valley Historical Society FOUGERE, Alexander WWI Alexander was from Havre Boucher, Nova Scotia. He joined the Army in World War I and was killed in action in France on November 3, 1917 while serving with the 14th Canadian Battalion. Submitted by Arras Branch # 059 of The Royal Canadian Legion FOUGÈRE, Clement Simon “Clem” WWII Clem was born in Poulamon, Cape Breton on September 26, 1925. He joined the Merchant Navy on August 15, 1940 and served in Canada, the United States and overseas on numerous ships, including RMS Lady Drake, Nipiwau and MV Regionolite Foundation Aranmore. He was torpedoed twice. Colin was awarded the Atlantic Star, the Pacific Star, the 1939-45 Star and the George VI Medal. He was a member of Arichat Legion Branch # 150 for twenty years before he passed away on November 3, 1981. Submitted by the Arichat Branch # 150 of The Royal Canadian Legion
