Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 133 GLODE, Peter N. WWI Peter was born in Milford, Nova Scotia on October 22, 1894. He joined the Canadian Army in 1917 and served in Europe with the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps. Submitted by Middleton Branch # 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion GLODE, Samuel “Sam” WWI Sam was born in Milton, Nova Scotia in 1878. He joined the Canadian Army at the age of 37 and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in France and Belgium with the 6th Field Co. He fought in the Vimy Ridge Campaign and he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal. Sam came home from the war in 1919 and he passed away at the Camp Hill Veterans Hospital in 1957. Submitted by Middleton Branch # 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion GREIG, A. H. WWI Corporal Grieg enlisted in October 1916 with the 10th Siege Battery and went overseas with a draft in March 1917. He proceeded to France with the 3rd Canadian Siege Battery, was in several engagements and then was sent to England as a result of having his eyes affected by a bursting bomb.
