She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at National Defence Headquarters and served as a Wireless Operator with CSIS. Ruth has been with Centennial Legion Branch # 160 for ten years and was Veteran of the Month in November 2009. Submitted by the Centennial Branch # 160 of The Royal Canadian Legion KENNEDY, Stanley Frederick WWII Stanley was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia in 1911. He joined the Army in World War II and served in England with the Cape Breton Highlanders. He was awarded medals issued to those who served. Stanley was a member of Glace Bay Legion Branch # 003 before he passed away in 1985. Submitted independently KEYES, Alva W. WWI Alva was born in Elmsdale, Nova Scotia in 1899. He joined the Royal Canadian Army and served with the Nova Scotia Regiment Construction and Forestry Corps in England and Canada.
