He joined the Army during World War II and served as a wireless operator with the 89th Battery in Canada, France, Holland, and by air over Europe when serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Bert was awarded the 193945 Star, the Aircrew Europe Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the Canadian Efficiency Medal, the Operation Wing and WAG Badge. He was a member of Spryfield Legion Branch # 152 for fifty-four years before he died in 2010. He joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force during World War I and served with the Nova Scotia Royal Constabulary in England, France and Belgium. He was awarded the Mons Medal. John was a member of Fort Hawkesbury Legion Branch # 43 for many years before he passed away in 1970. Submitted independently LAWRENCE, George Alexander WWII George was born on December 30, 1919 in Lethbridge, Alberta. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served from 1939 to 1945 on HMCS Agassiz and on Corvettes in Canada, England and on the high seas. George was a member of Montgomery Legion Branch # 024 in Edmonton for forty-eight years. He passed away on January 1, 2014. Submitted independently
