He joined the Army in WWI and served with the 185th Cape Breton Highlanders and the 42nd Battery (Black Watch) in France and Belgium. John was killed in action at Passchendaele in 1917. Submitted independently MacLEOD, Murdock Dan WWI Murdock was born in Stirling, Cape Breton in 1895. He joined the Army in WWI and served in England with the 1st Depot Battalion Nova Scotia. Murdock was a member of Stellarton Legion Branch # 028 before he passed away in 1963. Submitted independently MacMILLAN, A. J. WWI A.J. MacMillan enlisted in the First Tank Battalion, a branch of the service which attracted the adventurous because of its hazards and novelty. He went to Quebec in May and reached England in July, and was training there when the war ended. Submitted by the Middleton Branch # 001 of The Royal Canadian Legion
