Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 181 MAYNARD, Jeffery James PEACETIME James was born in Hamilton, Ontario on December 28, 1971 and was a resident of Hureauville, Nova Scotia. He joined the Navy on April 12, 1999 and got his basic training in St. Jean, Quebec. He was posted to Esquimalt, British Columbia for trades training as an electrician then was posted to the Persian Gulf on HMCS Calgary for operation augmentation in 2000. James received the Canadian Peacekeeping Medal and took part in Opapallo in 2003. He also received the Southwest Asia Medal. His other postings were on HMCS Regina and HMCS Ottawa and he is presently stationed at FMF Cape Breton in Esquimalt, BC. Jeff has two sons. He joined the Army and served in Canada, the United States and the Far East with the Royal Canadian Service Corps. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the Korea Medal, the US Service Medal and the UN Service Medal. Daniel was a member of Spryfield Legion Branch # 152 and Vimy Branch # 027 for a total of fifty years before he passed away in 2013.
