During World War II, he joined the North Nova Scotia Highlanders and served in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He was awarded the France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Submitted independently NICHOLS, Roderick Clyde WWII Roderick was born in 1925 in South Berwick, Nova Scotia. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II and served in Canada, England and on the high seas on HMCS Longueuil. Roderick was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration, the Atlantic Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the Canadian Centennial Medal, and the War Medal 1939-45. He was a member of Lawrencetown Legion Branch # 112 for thirty-eight years before his death in 2013. She joined the Canadian Army during World War II and served in Toronto, Ontario with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps. She was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-45.
