Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 195 PROWSE, Norman Andrew KOREA & SPECIAL DUTY AREA Norman was born in Alberta in 1929. He joined a rotating Navy in March 1948 and served until September 1974 when he retired from military service. He served in Korea with the United Nations in 1951 and sailed on HMCS Magnificent, Bonaventure, Quebec, New Liskeard, Huron and Granby. He served in Korea, England and on the high seas. He qualified as a clearance diving officer in 1961 and served on various diving appointments until his retirement. Norman has been a member of Spryfield Legion Branch # 152 for twenty-five years. He graduated from Sussex High School in 1942 and attended Pre-Med at the University of New Brunswick. He was a Warrant Officer cadet in the reserve army and attained the rank of Company Sergeant Major. James served in the active force from 1944 to 1945 with the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion. He was awarded his wings as a parachutist at Shilo, Manitoba. James received his MDCM from Dalhousie University in 1951 then trained as a specialist in surgery F. R. C. S. © 1960. His medical training as a Surgeon General and Plastic Surgeon came with the help of the D.V.A. James is married to Elizabeth Douglas and they lived in Harmony, Nova Scotia. He is a member of A. L Patterson Legion Branch # 087. Submitted by the Patterson Branch # 087 of The Royal Canadian Legion SALTER, Ronal Edward PEACETIME Ronal was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1939. He joined the Army and served in Canada with the Princess Louise Fusiliers. Ronal was a member of Spryfield Legion Branch # 152 for thirty-five years before he passed away in 2011.
