Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 83 COX, Ernest William WWI Ernest, son of Samuel Cumminger and Anna Maude (Dean) Cox of Upper Musquodoboit and Newton Mills, was born in 1901 and served at Fort Ogilvie in Halifax in the Active Militia. Like his brother Andrew, he became a member of the Canadian Expeditionary Force in June 1918. In later years, he lived in Truro, Nova Scotia. Submitted by the Stewiacke Valley Historical Society COX, Frank Brown WWI Frank, son of Henry P. and Mary Ellen (Brown) Cox of Berry Hill, was born in 1897. He was called up in 1917 and trained at Camp Aldershot. After the war, he and his parents moved to Upper Stewiacke Village where he farmed and also built and operated a successful garage and store. He married Florence Evelyn (Love) Searle. Frank passed away in 1948. Submitted by the Stewiacke Valley Historical Society COX, Norman Alexander WWI Norman, son of Campbell and Christina (MacKenzie) Cox, was born in Eastville in 1900 and served at Fort Ogilvie in Halifax and in the 1st Canadian Garrison Artillery for one year and eleven months. He married Bessie Dean and after her death, moved to the United States and eventually married again to Katherine Dolan. Norman passed away in 1955.
