He belonged to the 82nd Regiment of the Active Militia and on November 20, 1915, joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force. Thomas served with the 105th Battalion and with the 25th Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment. Thomas was discharged in 1918 and passed away on June 14, 1940. He joined the Army in World War II and served in Canada and England with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
