Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 109 LEVANGIE, Arthur Freeman WWI Arthur was born in Port Felix, Nova Scotia on May 18, 1893 to George Levangie and Sophie Cashen. He joined the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (Eastern Ontario Regiment). Arthur was killed in action on April 9, 1917 in France. He will be remembered and respected for his years of service. Submitted by the Torbay Branch # 117 of The Royal Canadian Legion LEVINE, Ruth WWII Ruth, a veteran of WWII, was born in Inverness in July 1923. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a stenographer in Ottawa from 1943 to 1945 and in various other places in Canada, including the Royal Canadian Air Force Station in Centralia, Ontario until 1946. After her release, she taught school and retired in 1987. Ruth will turn 92 years old in 2015. Submitted independently LUDDINGTON, William WWI William was born in 1884 and was the son of William Henry Luddington and Mary Ellen (Gillie) of New Harbour, Nova Scotia. He served in the war of 1912-1918 with the Canadian Pioneers. After the war ended, he married and lived in Hope, B.C. where he died and is buried. William was a twin to Milton Luddington who also served in WWI and was remembered in the Veterans’ Service Memorial Book, Volume Six. He will be remembered and respected for his years of service.
