Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command of The Royal Canadian Legion www.ns.legion.ca 111 MacKAY, Mervyn Lewis WWII Mervyn was born on November 7, 1920 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on December 9, 1941. He served with the 617th Dambusters, #5 Group Bomber Command. His tour of duty included Canada, United Kingdom and Europe. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, Aircrew Europe Star, Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the War Medal. Mervyn passed away on February 12, 1991. He was a veteran of the Second World War, where he served from 1940-1945. He married Irene Merit from Clemensport, N.S. and resided in Hamilton, Ont. until retiring to Clemensport, N.S. Alex passed away on April 4, 1987. Submitted by the Donkin Branch # 005 of The Royal Canadian Legion MacKENZIE, Donald James WWII Don was born and raised in Kentville, Nova Scotia. He served with the R.C.A.F. from 1939 to 1945, serving with C.I.C. (1944). He had 37 years of Legion service at the time of his death in 2005.
